Top 10 of 2010.

Happy New Year Everyone. Here's to living a more loving, deep, meaningful year.  And lots of health and happiness.

10. my car- it got me from point A to B every time i got in the car to go anywhere. i do not take that for granted.

9. anthropologie-  with no great meaning in my life, but adding a pretty layer to it for sure:)

8. the sunshine state- family, vitamin d, palm trees, balmy air, and making it convenient to take three kids into the grocery store when new york is getting blasted with snow.

7. Women of Hope- a support group that offers much more than just support. these women get on their knees to pray for each other and through that learning, tackling cancer with a brave face.

6. Ray Stedman- an on-line, daily devotional that has taken my knowledge of God outside the box of a lukewarm faith.

5. Calvary Chapel- not only our church but graycen's school that teaches the Word of God as it was intended.

4. Hudson Valley Oncology- saved my life one chemo at a time. people that blessed me beyond what a job ever requires of a person.

3. Graycen, Dune, and Lars- not just children but a gift from God. these little lives taught me how BIG that God is and by watching and observing them over the past year i have learned that indeed, life is not about me.

2. Jonathan- one day at a time my relationship with my husband has proved invaluable to me. what God had planned for us, no human eye could have seen, or understood. but by stepping out in faith we have learned what love really means.

1. God- is.

* and here's one more for the new year. my mom- the significance of her life to mine can not be put into words. she is responsible for living selflessly so that she could watch my life prosper. i can only pray i can go into this year having learned that that is the most beautiful way one can live their life.

Gift Guide.

graycen is getting the following for christmas:

1. Essie nailpolish in ballet slippers. the perfect color for my ballerina.

2. The Complete Little House book set.

3. cat crayons found at craftsbury kids.

4. a collection of vintage books i've been finding here and there.

5. American Girl Doll, Kit.

6. vintage print cat dress.

santa certainly agrees with me that she's been very nice this year and indeed deserves to open many pretty gifts on christmas morning. although we believe the emphasis of christmas is the birth of Jesus, it is nice to shower our littles with gifts once and a while. and christmas is the most suiting time to do so. that, and birthdays of course. i hope our girl likes her new goodies:)

Happy Friday!

Christmas Shopping.

This little girl came home with tons of white paper bags with gifts in them. picked out by her. i put her to bed tonight and came and looked at them sitting under the tree and was totally tempted to peek in them. i didn't though. but i think it will be the thing i most look forward to unwrapping this christmas.

graycen's class went shopping at the school gift shop they have set up for christmas. jonathan and i were talking last night how we both remember how much we loved doing this when we were kids. i mentioned the stuffed animal dog that my sister got me one year that i slept with until i was probably eight years old. it came from our school gift shop! i wonder, will dune and lars keep what graycen picked out for them and treasure it always? i hope so:)

Weekend Review.

hello everyone:) i hope you are settling nicely into your sunday evening. graycen and i are about to put in the Anne Of Green Gables dvd and get under the christmas blanket and snuggle till our hearts are content. we had a fast paced, fun filled, lovely weekend. graycen and i wrapped presents till our fingers hurt last night, and we cooked all sorts of food, did some christmas shopping, went to church, and made it to a birthday party. the boys are already in bed. and i am feeling pretty good about all of that.

God has been taking my relationship with Him a lot deeper than i would have ever thought i would be ready for. and today at church, He used the service to expose everything that's wrong with me. and i liked it. in fact i praise Him for it. i don't want to live on the surface. i don't mind going uncomfortably deep in my walk with Christ. i actually enjoy it and now strive for it every single day.
so christmas means so much more to me than any gift money could buy. for one thing this year, i am alive. i am a cancer survivor celebrating christmas, and that is not to be taken lightly. but the real gift is my eternal life. the fact that this christmas season is about God putting on flesh, as my pastor talked about today. i hope as you get closer to the day of christmas, that you don't lose sight of what the day is really about. or maybe you've never even thought about it as anything other than giving and getting gifts. the ultimate gift has already been paid for you. Jesus' birth changed everything. think about it.

also, i included some really cute pictures of lars. can you believe i get to kiss on that face whenever i feel like it?

i took pictures of my friend's daughters the other day. i loved capturing the sisterly bond between the two of them. makes me so thankful for my own bond with my sister. aren't they precious? what is better than a sister?
